Beach Bums

So, this is life. Wake up late, eat late breakfast, make sandwiches for the beach, make it to beach before noon, it's miller time at noon. Pop a top and enjoy playing in the surf for hours on end. Mix up batch of pina-coladas to top off the day and come off the beach around 6. Fire up the grill and cook great fresh seafood for big family feast. Switch to red wine around 7 and finish off the day hanging out on the beach until 1 or 2 in the morning. Wake up, repeat. Maybe I will make the effort to take and post pictures, or maybe I wont.

Heat Wave Melting The Crew

Things were really getting done until this past week. I think my crew is burned out, literaly and figuretively. The sun is cooking our brains and our skin, any material left out is instantly cooked and warped. Productivity has dropped through the floor and I am glad we are going on vacation. I do not have the fire to push things right now and a break is needed to recharge the energy source.I am sending the skytrack and the crew home for good, and it is up to me to finish up. I really wish we had finished the deck, but the hard part is done and I can do the rest. Dave, Don, Scott, and his son Levon have all done a great job and I hate to think where we would be without their help. Now I can look for money to save in the budget so I can spend more on labor. But for now, I am on my own except for 2 weeks that Richard is working when I get back from vacation. I am a little behind on my schedule, but a little ahead of the banks schedule, so I wont sweat it. So now it's time to spend 10 days laying on the beach and trying out my new cordless blender, wont even have to go up to the room. We have a big crew from my family going, so this will be a blast. I am going to eat fresh seafood every night, and swim in the ocean every day. Adios

Ready For Railing

Awesome Big Party Deck

Started on the massive back deck, it kind of stuns you when you see how 1400 sf  lays out up in the trees. I have to get railing up asap becouse a fall from 17' would not be good. Luckily, we have decided on our railing system and it is easy to construct. This is the last week of having a big crew as I am out of funds to pay for them, but I want to get the big things done. Pretty much everything left is doable for me and a helper. I am probably about 2 weeks behind where I wanted to be, but still very happy about what we accomplished with the big crew. When we get back from vacation the mechanics will take over and we will get plumbing, electric, and heat-air. Time to put my frame of mind in a differant latitude for the next couple weeks.
