Building Osage: The construction of a House in the Gorge

In 2011 I began construction of our dream home on the cliffs of the Osage Gorge in Newton County Arkansas. I designed the house around the incredible site and spent 2 years building the place as my full time job. I now live here with my wife and 9 year old son. The Buffalo National River is only 3 miles away, and we enjoy all seasons, hiking, paddling, and swimming in this beautiful park. Follow along on all the cool adventures and fun.

A Hike In The Gorge

Concrete crew could'nt work becouse it rained about 3/4" last night. It raised the creek about 6", so I thought I would take some pictures to share. Pretty nasty day, but a good day for pictures. Should get foundation completed this week. I believe we will do some camping on the river this weekend, conditions are looking good. The picture are of Osage Creek that runs right below our new home.
