In 2011 I began construction of our dream home on the cliffs of the Osage Gorge in Newton County Arkansas. I designed the house around the incredible site and spent 2 years building the place as my full time job. I now live here with my wife and 9 year old son. The Buffalo National River is only 3 miles away, and we enjoy all seasons, hiking, paddling, and swimming in this beautiful park. Follow along on all the cool adventures and fun.

Fall Arrives
Oh my God, the weather is so awesome. It's easy to stay busy when it feels so good outside, and we need to get alot done. We are putting on the decks on the east side of the house now, and finishing out a ton of small items to get ready for electrician and insulation. Robyn is also making all the selections in plumbing fixtures and begining to work on the inside decor. After much consternation and discussion, I think we have decided on walnut and cherry floors. They are beautiful, but also budget breakers. Either way, I am going to install them and that is going to be a big job. Two items are shaping up to be my biggest projects left; the wood ceiling, and the wood floor. Altogether there will be over 3000 sf of the two combined. I also made a change in Matt's window and we have to do a redo on the header. There are tons of small things to get ready for the next steps, so thats what needs to be done. We went for the last swim of the summer on saturday, and I will miss going to the river everyday to cool off. But as soon as the nights start getting so cold, the water in the river does too. Hopefully, we will get some rain and put some much needed water in the rivers to float on. Well, todays gonna be a good day so everyone enjoy. SYOTMS, Roger
