In 2011 I began construction of our dream home on the cliffs of the Osage Gorge in Newton County Arkansas. I designed the house around the incredible site and spent 2 years building the place as my full time job. I now live here with my wife and 9 year old son. The Buffalo National River is only 3 miles away, and we enjoy all seasons, hiking, paddling, and swimming in this beautiful park. Follow along on all the cool adventures and fun.

A Million Small Things
So, it's been awhile to update. But alot's been done. HVAC is close to complete, Plumbing is close to complete, soffitt and facia-done,fireplace chase caps are on job, crawl space deck is complete, picture window frames are getting done, side decks are complete, and the railing is inching along. Next up is exterior door frames, complete all blocking for foam insulation, build the chases for the HVAC and plumbing, complete fireplace installs, redo Matt's window, and build the front deck and shed roof. After that, it is time for exterior siding and rock, electricians, and then move inside. I'm trying to gather all my interior finish material now. We are soon to order the hardwood floors and we are making selections on a ton of items. Kitchen and bath faucets and sinks, shower and tub flooring and tile, cabinets and countertops. This is the hard part, creating a timeless look that wont be out of date in 5 years. The weather is cooperating, it's in the 60s today. Unfortunately, we have had an emergency at the store and I'm going to have to fill in for awhile and work 2 jobs. No fun, but you gotta do what you gotta do. The bank inspector came out the other day, and I think he was pleased. I think I have convinced him that I do know what I'm doing. Or, at least that I'm not stupid. Well, I will post some new photos later today, so check back in. SYOTMS, Roger
