In 2011 I began construction of our dream home on the cliffs of the Osage Gorge in Newton County Arkansas. I designed the house around the incredible site and spent 2 years building the place as my full time job. I now live here with my wife and 9 year old son. The Buffalo National River is only 3 miles away, and we enjoy all seasons, hiking, paddling, and swimming in this beautiful park. Follow along on all the cool adventures and fun.

Rock Work Complete
Rock work is complete, they came sunday and finished up everything! So now, the Awesome room is basically done, a couple more pieces of trim and a finish AND WERE DONE! It's hard to believe, now if I could just get my carpenter back for just a couple days, all the interior doors would be done. Not that I can't do them myself, but I have so many other items to complete that it would be a big boost to just get Scott to hang the doors. I won't count on it, and I will just push on through becouse we are so close to living here. Granite is coming this week hopefully, the last electrical items have come in and are ready to be installed, and the glass vanity top for the master bath arrived friday. Wow is this top going to be beautiful, but also a challenge to build. I got a visit yesterday from one of our neighbors who works at the new Compton store, it was fun listening to her go on and on and on. Jaw dropping, oh my gods, and a constant run of compliments really made me feel so good. To tell the truth, the house is way beyond anything I ever could have imagined, and the reason is that Robyn insisted on adding more square footage, another bathroom, a full mudroom with sink and refrigerator, cherry and walnut hardwood floors, and a lot more rock work than was planned. Even though there were differances of course, we really made a great design team, without her touch, the house would not be near what it is. I am down to the last items , with the last major item inside being the interior doors. I am going to finish all the other stuff before I begin on the doors, and all of it without help is probably around 2 weeks of work, maybe more. Come on Scott, just 2 days of help my man. Gotta Go.
