In 2011 I began construction of our dream home on the cliffs of the Osage Gorge in Newton County Arkansas. I designed the house around the incredible site and spent 2 years building the place as my full time job. I now live here with my wife and 9 year old son. The Buffalo National River is only 3 miles away, and we enjoy all seasons, hiking, paddling, and swimming in this beautiful park. Follow along on all the cool adventures and fun.

Trying to Beat the Weather
It's Friday and the concrete man called early this morning, he wants to try and get the footings poured today. The problem is that rain is on the way sometime today or night. Can this be done, or is the concrete man trying to show me that he is serious about getting the job done. Either way, it means that I dont have to go in to work on my birthday.(yehaw) We will see how things go, I am sceptical becouse of all the delays we have suffered. But this could be the day. I have hiked The Gorge a couple times in the last week, and it is in the best condition since the great ice storm of 08. This is the result of a big effort from the Arkansas Canoe Club and yours truly. Before the storm, The Gorge was pristine and untouched. The storm ravaged it so badly I thought I would never see it close to that condition again. But nature has a way of restoring herself, along with a helping hand from man. Enough rambling, I'm out the door to get ready for the concrete crew. Keep your fingers crossed.
